The MariaDB Corporation has today released MariaDB TX 3.0, a new version that is equipped with enterprise-level features and functionality and is capable of replacing costly enterprise databases. The company says that it is the first enterprise open source database solution to deliver advanced features that, until now, required expensive, proprietary, and complex databases from Oracle, Microsoft or IBM.
As per the company, now, with this new version, i.e., MariaDB TX 3.0, the consumers will be able to leverage the capability and confidence of running their businesses smoothly, quickly, and securely at very affordable cost because it is an enterprise open source database.
Max Mether, Head of Server Product Management at MariaDB Corporation, stated in a Press Statement,
“With MariaDB TX 3.0 and MariaDB Server 10.3 GA at its core, we are not only creating a streamlined way to migrate applications to MariaDB, we’re pioneering a new standard for enterprise open source databases.”
MariaDB TX 3.0 delivers Oracle compatibility (first-ever in an open source DB), temporal tables and queries, purpose-built storage engines, data masking and obfuscation, and instant/invisible/compressed columns, which all help the Oracle DB users to reuse an existing code and in establishing skill-sets, especially when they are deploying a new application or migrating an old one.
