About OLAP

OLAP stand for (Online Analytical Processing) which is used for performs multidimensional analysis of business data and provides the capability for complex calculations, trend analysis, and sophisticated data modeling which is more powerful for increase the speed of database. OLAP is mainly used kinds of business applications for Business Performance Management, Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting, Financial Reporting, Analysis, Simulation Models, Knowledge Discovery, and Data Warehouse Reporting. OLAP enables end-users to perform ad hoc analysis of data in multiple dimensions, thereby providing the insight and understanding they need for better decision making. OLAP came in the market according to the tremendous complexity and sheer growth associated with business data during the 1970s as the volume and type of information became too heavy for adequate analysis through simple structured query language (SQL) queries.
